Montana’s BBQ & Bar - Calgary: Taste the BBQ Magic

We stopped by Montana’s recently and had a mixed experience. The beef rib was a letdown, overpriced for the quality, and the meat was quite chewy, lacking the tenderness you’d expect. It was also mild in flavor, and there didn’t seem to be enough barbecue sauce to bring it to life. The potatoes weren’t the same as they used to be, smaller, with very little stuffing inside, which made them feel like an afterthought. On the upside, the pork ribs were delicious, full of flavor and cooked well. The fries were great too, crispy and hot. As for the coleslaw, it was fresh but missing that bit of tangy sourness to balance the richness of the meats. Overall, not a bad meal, but a few key items really missed the mark, especially considering the price.

I’ve been here countless times with the kiddos, and it never disappoints! The service is top-notch, and the food is always fantastic. The atmosphere is perfect for families, with a warm, outdoorsy vibe that feels like a cozy log cabin. The food arrived quickly and all at once, so no one was left waiting—a big plus when dining with kids! Our server was amazing, stopping by just the right amount to make sure we had everything we needed.

Family came here on a Sunday for dinner. We wanted to take advantage of the AMA 15% off promotion and this was the last day. The interior was your typical Montana's BBQ house decor which was warm and inviting. It was a bit busy on this evening but we were seen and seated right away. They have quite a few options on the menu - even non-BBQ options. But of course if you come to Montana's you want to get BBQ. My son who has a bigger appetite now got the regular Mac n Cheese entrée. It looked like he enjoyed it as he consumed it pretty fast. My wife and daughter got the BBQ Brisket. There was lots of meat. It was delicious and tender with great flavour. I had the regular back ribs with almond butter sauce and beans, onion rings and coleslaw. The food was great and the atmosphere made family enjoy their time here. Even better our server Mec was awesome! She was so great - friendly, helpful, always had a smile. Great service.

Came in with my two children tonight for a quick bite and to keep me out of our crazy hot kitchen. Our server Roanne was super sweet, attentive and patient with my son's meandering stories... I shared the fajitas with my daughter and my son had a burger with fries, all the food was great but it would be nice if steak fajitas were also an option. I'm glad we stopped in and will definitely be back!

This was a long due review. Me and my friend went to this place while looking for a place around to eat. As we entered I wasn’t sure to go in or not. It was quiet and empty. Soon we were greeted by a server and were seated. We ordered chicken wings as appetiser but were hungry so skipped the photo and focused on eating. The wings were yum. For main course we ordered beef brisket burger and for dessert chocolate cake. The burger was to die for and so was the cake. We had the house smoke sauce which was cherry on the top. We both ordered drinks. Mine was virgin and was too sweet but my friends was good. They were short of servers, Azeem who I think is the partner or on some position at the place provided us with excellent service. Overall amazing food.

Our server was Sierra- I don’t know if I spelled her name right but oh well… she was just amazing to deal with. the first time I was here and now that I am back today she remembered who we were. Amazing personalized customer experience. I guess that is what we look for, it’s not just all bout the ambience and the food, it is how you are treated. Fantastic server, she is patient and doesn’t rush you. I feel like more people should personalize their service. It makes all the difference.

I had a really nice experience here with my family. The food was delicious and I was impressed with the portion sizes. The pricing was very reasonable too. Lilly was our server and she was very sweet and attentive throughout the whole experience. It's a nice rustic, casual atmosphere. We would go back again!
